You know how in the last post I talked about how lone white ladies in Clevleand just loved to DANCE!!!! Well, after we toured the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame (more on that later, but let’s just say that it could be renamed McKelvy’s Costume Dream Closet!) we spied four middle aged ladies who loved to…
…line dance together in unison to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” playing at a nearby bandstand:
…and hula hoop
…and, um, play with big balls. (Look, insert your own dirty joke here. It’s not that I can’t, or even that I’m too mature for that. It’s hard to pick just one, though…)
This was the point where Robyn and Steve pointed out that my photojournalism was becoming a bit obsessive and creepy. I employed every bit of my camera’s 18X zoom lens to capture these strangers on film, and was starting to seem vaguely TMZ-ish. It’s possible that the ladies themselves also noticed and that the one lady in that last picture who had her own camera out, might be photographing me (photographing them) in case the police needed to know who to give the restraining order to.
So, I stopped, even when I was given a pretty classic opportunity to photograph them playing a game called “cornhole,” which is waaaaay less dirty than it sounds.
